Todd was raised around motorcycles. His father began riding as a young man, and passed his passion onto Todd. As a young boy, it was not unusual to catch Todd sneaking the Honda Trail 110, (small enough for him to ride), out of the garage while his parents were away. He had a passion for anything adventurous, and was motivated by competition.

Todd in Colorado, Fall 2001. If you've never rode through Colorado, you're missing out. Todd later said, "If my wife and I had another 9 days, it still wouldn't have been enough."

At the age of 11, Todd was invited to one of the first Seattle Mariner youth camps, and impressed the staff by hurling 83mph fastballs. While some of his pitches were, "just a bit outside", Todd had issues not giving it 100%, every pitch. "I have 7 pitches to put three across the plate, right?" Todd was also one of the youngest athletes to make it into "The Who's Who of Young Athletes". Not for Baseball, but Football where he started on the Varsity 9th grade team, as a 7th grader.
Todd's father was a Seattle police officer, and retired in 1980, moving the family to Arizona in 1981.
Electing to put off college, and college sports, Todd joining the Army in 1985. He spent 4 years serving his country in Germany, assigned to a special operations unit. Most of his duties centered on NATO readiness, and training NATO forces. At this time the "Iron Curtain" was stronger than ever, and President Ronald Reagan was just starting to apply the pressure. Needless to say, much of Todd's duties required a Top Secret clearance.
Following his service, Todd was hired as a police officer by the City of Chandler. Always looking to push himself, Todd started several small businesses, and all were met with success. While he loved police work, and earned several awards, one of his companies required his full-time attention. Todd left police work in the late 1990's, and focused full-time on developing The Helmet Harbor.
As the company grew, it bothered Todd that many of his customers were purchasing apparel, without meeting his staff. These orders were typically handled over the phone, or through the online store, and direct interaction was limited. It was important to Todd to narrow this gap, and put a face to the voice. His solution? To distribute a FREE DVD with every order, featuring everyone at the store doing what they enjoyed most; Riding motorcycles. The project cost over $15,000.00 to film, produce, edit, and manufacture, but it show's Todd's dedication to his customers.

Getting around the track wasn't easy for Todd. He's attended several professional instruction schools, and still can't claim to be the fastest on the track. For Todd, it's more about personal accomplishments, than finishing first. Which he has done a few times...

Todd's is a firm believer that "truly living" only comes through achieving goals, and pushing personal limits. He's done his best to "walk the walk" by filling his life with many personal achievements. Rock Climbing, IPSC handgun competition, competitive bicycling, professional motorcycle racing, skydiving, mountain biking, repelling, flying airplanes and raising money for charity are only a few. One fundraiser involved Todd bicycling his road bike non-stop (well, almost) across the State of Arizona. The adventure took him from the Mexican border, to Utah is less than 36 hours (530 miles). Even though he encountered some setbacks, this achievement managed to raise approximately $10,000 for the American Cancer Society. Todd has also broken his hand, blown out his knee's, (still not right), and injured his hip, (laid up for a month), riding motocross. Trust me when I say, Todd knows the need for helmets.
The Helmet Harbor is a dream come true for Todd, and his commitment to other motorcyclists carries over to the promise of outstanding customer service.
