In our opinion, the Tourmaster Caliber Pant might just be the best riding pant on the market. It features a plethora of high-end features sometimes not even found on pants twice its price. Tourmaster really got it right with the Caliber. They created a high-quality, feature rich, sporty looking pant that will keep you protected and looking good for years to come.
The first thing we liked about this pant was the way it looked. It was clean and sporty in appearance. We feel these pants look great on a touring machine and even look right at home on a cutting-edge sport bike. No need to neglect a “real” riding pant to look good anymore.
The Caliber pant features a full-length removable liner. This allows the rider to stay warm on cold days and with it removed, cool on warm days. We have tested these pants in the coldest temperatures Arizona has to offer; now that may sound weird, but we do have areas that get snow in August from time to time. The Caliber’s performed well in the low 30’s and we feel they would have been fine even in the 20’s. Living in Arizona, summer is the real test. We have ridden the Caliber pants, with the liner removed, in low 90 degree temperatures. This is about the point where the useful life of the pant ends and we want to trade them in for a mesh pant. We feel this pant covers the majority of the riding seasons for the majority of the country.
The pant has full-length water-proof zippers on the outer legs that allow easy entry and removal even with boots on. The Caliber boosts accordion-styled panels that help with comfort and flexibility and they even constructed the removable liner to the same standard. The pant is very comfortable and that is why we like it so much.
It also features removable CE rated, hard plastic-coated armor in the knee area. One thing that we really appreciate is that Tourmaster added what they call, “3 Position Knee Armor Alignment System. Essentially this allows you to adjust the height of the knee armor in the pant. This can be very useful for riders with shorter or longer legs. Most manufacturers put the armor in one place and that is it. Tourmaster went the extra mile on this one. They also use exterior armor in the hip area as well to give that “little extra” protection.
There are stretch panels and Velcro adjustments at the waist to give a decent range around the waistband. Stretch panels in the inner thigh area that make moving around on the saddle and dismounting the bike easier. Phoslite reflective piping will make you more visible at night. And of course comes standard with an 8” zipper so you can attach them to a jacket to form a riding suit.
The Caliber pant looks great, provides more protection than most, features double-stitched seams throughout, works in a wide range of temperatures and all this comes at a price you can afford. This is by far the fastest selling pant we offer at our retail store and it is also the item that is referred to friends more often that any other pant. People just love the Calibers and we are certainly impressed as well.
