The Joe Rocket Sonic 2.0 is one of our staff's favorite jackets. It looks great on a cruiser or a sportbike!
The feature that we like most is the quality and feel of the leather. The leather is a perfect balance in weight and extremely soft to the touch. The previous Sonic 1.0 was a nice jacket, but the Sonic 2.0 is completely different and better in every way. It wears very well and we like overall fit. It fits pretty true to size in our experience. The sleeve length is standard. It also has a removable vest liner that does a good job in cooler weather.
The Joe Rocket Sonic 2.0 comes equipped with fully removable dual density armor. The armor in the jacket doesn't feel obtrusive like a lot of other jackets.
The jacket is available in two versions: Perforated and Non-Perforated.
The perforated version moves a lot of air and keeps the rider cool in warm weather. With the insulated liner installed it does a decent job when it is cooler out, but if you are looking for something to get you through the winter, you might want to purchase the non-perforated version. The non-perforated does a better job when it is cooler, but Joe Rocker included "zip-off panels" for summer riding. The area under the arm pits and around the mid-section can be removed to reveal a vented mesh material. With these panels removed, the jacket does a surprizing good job for summer riding.
The Sonic 2.0 is a great choice if you are looking for a jacket that isn't too busy or over-the-top. The styling is sharp and the fit is great. Combine that with the two versions and fully removable armor system and you have a winner.
