Having been a motorcyclist for many years and of course working in the industry, I have seen and used many brands of luggage. Cortech happens to be one of the brands that really impressed me. I feel they make some of the best luggage available on the market today, and the Cortech Super Mini Magnetic Tank Bag is one of those products that hit the mark in so many ways.
As riders, we all have certain things we need to carry on our bikes at different times. Sometimes it is a week’s worth of groceries and other times it is nothing more than a camera to take a few snap shots to show our friends and family where we have been. The Super Mini Tank Bag is great for those rides where you just want to carry the bare minimum. No trips to the laundry-mat with this bag. It is purpose-built and intended for a small load. The bag is perfect for a camera, disc lock, riding gloves and a few other small items like DVD’s (Blockbuster is probably leaving you messages).
The quality of the bag is top notch. It is built from strong ballistic nylon that really takes a beating and still comes out looking like a champ after thousands of miles. The heavy-duty zippers work flawlessly and have large easy to use tabs to grab a hold of while wearing gloves. The inner lining is soft and seems to keep anything from being damaged. You could probably stick a spare visor in there without it getting scratched up, but I’d still prefer a Visor-Sok or MotoEquip visor protector. It even has a little organizer pocket for various items like pens and a note pad to get some hottie’s digits.
The magnets are super strong and I never felt as if the bag was in any danger of flying off, even at triple-digit speeds. Of course with the strap mount you have a backup, but honestly we have never lost a magnetic bag no matter how fast we rode.
Overall the bag has all the features you look for in a small package. Well-built, map pocket, rain cover, strong magnets, easy to use and operate zippers. And of course it is a Cortech product which overall impresses us whether it is a high quality jacket or a piece of luggage. There are many choices out there and more appearing daily. Currently the Cortech Super Mini has our vote for a compact bag that is just enough to carry what we really need!
