The Alter Ego jacket can be worn year round.  In the winter you keep the jacket together, in the summer you simply strip it down to the base mesh layer.  You're never caught in a position of having to store your jacket when the weather changes.  This jacket will make all your other jackets obsolete.

The Alter Ego has mainly three layers.  When the jacket is complete you have an outer Cordura layer,  inner mesh layer, and the PVC liner.  Each layer works independently.  Here's an example.  You leave for a ride in the early morning and it's cold.  You leave with all of the layers in place for maximum warmth.  Later in the day it warms up, so you decide to remove the inner PVC liner.  As the day progresses it becomes even warmer, so you decide to remove the outer Cordura layer making the jacket into a mesh jacket.  As the evening approaches the weather begins to cool down a bit, so you decide to zip in the PVC layer to give you a little protection from the chilly wind.  As you see, the combinations are endless.

The Alter Ego features dual density armor that is fully removable. 

The Alter Ego does have a feature we like.  Joe Rocket figured out that when you remove all these layers you're going to need a place to put it.  The Alter Ego comes with a small backpack for this vary reason.  Granted, most riders carry a bag or other storage device, but having this small backpack is convenient.
