Ever since Scorpion hit our radar screens a couple of years ago, we have continued to be impressed with their product offerings. The first time we saw the Race Case we weren’t even sure what it was. We were so used to seeing the conventional flimsy helmet bags come and go, but when Scorpion’s Race Case arrived, it was a breath of fresh air.
First off, you’ll notice that it is a sturdy “helmet-shaped” container, not so much a bag anymore, but a case. This of course has an upside and a downside. The positive is that it looks great and really protects your helmet. The downside, odds are it is not going along for the ride.
When inspecting the Race Case internally, you notice that Scorpion has shaped the bottom of the case to hold your helmet securely in place. They have also gone the extra mile and added elastic straps that hold tension to the top of the helmet. Together, these two retention systems ensure your helmet is not going to bounce around inside. There is even a small bag on the inside that is great for holding extra screws or helmet parts. The Race Case also has fabric stretch pocket on the outside that is used for extra visor storage. The case will hold any brand of motorcycle helmet on the market, not just Scorpion lids.
Many customers who travel on the airlines really gravitate to this type of bag instead of the standard bags available. We even have a few customers that have attached the Race Case to the wall of their race trailers or garage walls. Just unzip the case and remove your helmet and hit the road.
We feel that Scorpion really came up with a winning design with the Race Case and it won’t surprise us if we see other companies follow Scorpions styling cues.
