The new CL-21 by HJC is a ventilated half-helmet that meets the styling demands of the touring and cruiser markets.
The CL-21 features an extremely soft liner. The padding is very thick and it allows the helmet to make very good contact with the top of your head. The liner's thickness really makes it feel planted while wearing thie helmet. In the appropriate size, you'll never fear the helmet leaving your head. The CL-21 is moderately round in fit and most riders like the way it feels. The best part is that it sits low on your head for a DOT helmet.
The CL-21 comes with a 3 snap visor to shade your eyes from the sun. It can be removed to add a 3 snap visor to protect your face and eyes from the wind and other types of road debris. It will accept any 3 snap universal visor.
The ventilation of the CL-21 is above average for a half helmet. Most half helmets are barely adequate when it comes to venting, but the CL-21 does keep your head cool. There are two frontal air intakes that scoop enough air to cool the helmet.
The helmet also features a quality removable neck curtain with built in speaker pockets for adding a comminucation system. Even if you don't add speakers, you can remove the curtain to allow more airflow in the summer and re-install it in the cooler months to help you stay warm. The chinstrap also has a loop to secure the extra chin strap material.
The CL-21 is a very nice helmet and our testers all raved about how comfortable is was. We like the way it sits low on your head and felt the ventilation to be good. Overall we like the CL-21 and odds are you will too.
