Aerodynamics
All of our helmet testers commented on how well the TiTech performed on the race track as well as the street. The shape of the shell seemed to cut through the wind with little effort. We didn’t notice any issues in terms of shake or buffeting during our tests.
Ventilation
The TiTech ventilation is very good. Our tests were conducted during the summer and everyone agreed that the TiTech’s venting did a great job in keeping their heads cool. The titanium vents were fairly easy to operate and all of our testers concluded that the TiTech was among the best when it comes to keeping their heads cool.
Weight
The TiTech is a little on the heavy side when compared to many other high dollar race helmets, but when wearing the helmet you’d almost never notice it. The actual weight might be a few ounces higher than some other models, but AGV has distributed the TiTech’s weight in a way that really balances the helmet and give it a much lighter feel than the scale may suggest. Consult the Helmet Harbor Weight Chart to see how the TiTech stacks up.
Noise
The TiTech performs well in the sound level department. It seems quieter than many other race helmets we have tested and we attribute this to the design of the vent system as well as the internal liner. The inner padding is especially plush and seals around the rider’s head in a way that helps make the TiTech seem quieter. We didn’t notice any issues with whistling or booming in our tests at any speed.
Shape
The TiTech leans towards moderately round in shape. AGV is typically known for making their helmets very round, but we have noticed the trend where AGV is designing their helmets to fit a broader range of head shapes. The internal padding is fully removable and made from a very soft material. We find the TiTech to offer one of the nicest feeling liners on the market. We did notice that the TiTech runs one full size small. In most cases, we suggest purchasing the next size up from what you already wear.
Visors
The TiTech offers many choices when it comes to optional visors. The visor changing system on the TiTech works very well. We found changing visors to be very easy once we changed the first one. The visor system doesn’t have any moving parts to speak of and that means there is less to go wrong.
Conclusion
The AGV TiTech is a very nice helmet and comes with a lot of features. The venting is very good and the helmet feels great while wearing it. We were impressed with the overall performance and we can see why Valentino Rossi chooses to wear the AGV TiTech.
